Lillian was born in Ravenscrag, Saskatchewan on March 3, 1937. She was adopted by her aunt and uncle, John and Eva miller, and her loving older brother, Oscar. The family moved to Chilliwack when Lillian was 7 years old. She attended school until grade 10, then attended night school for accounting and secretarial skills. She married in 1957 to Gilbert Nitschke and had three children. Lil was a very hard worker, milking cows beside her husband, working part time jobs at Eatons , Woolworths, and Sears to name a few and raising a family. The family moved to a large farm in Salmon Arm in November of 1972. After raising her family, divorcing and selling the farm, Lil moved to North Vancouver and met her second husband, Stan Nechvatal, through friends. They built a house and settled in Armstrong. They had many happy years. They were snowbirds and travelled the world including Europe and Australia until his passing in 2003.
Lil was an avid square dancer for over 40 years and attended functions all over Canada and the USA. She also taught square dancing to beginners.
Lil moved back to Chilliwack in 2019, the spring before Covid, where she resided at Chartwell Lynnwood assisted living until her passing.
She is survived by her children, Rory (Sheila), Corinne (Len), and Carey (Fely), Wendy Stevenson and Ward Nechvatal, 1 granddaughter, 6 grandsons, two great granddaughters, 4 nieces and 1 nephew.
Lil loved her family and friends very much. Family meant everything to her. She was an avid letter writer until the last few years. She kept in touch with everyone that crossed her path.
