It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jock Southgate on November 15, 2024. Jock was born on July 3, 1957, in Chilliwack, British Columbia to William (Bill) & Viola Southgate.
Jock grew up in Chilliwack, British Columbia and met the love of his life Pauline Hamel when he was seventeen years old. It was love at first sight. Jock and Pauline later moved to Fort St. John to start their family and begin their life together. He loved his career with Dome Petroleum Oil. Jock and family later moved back to Chilliwack, so they could be closer to their extended family.
Jock loved to socialize, hockey, read, cut trees, listen to some good rock and roll and work hard. He loved his kids and grandkids more than anyone could imagine. Jock had a passion for politics and at times it was very entertaining. He passed away doing what he truly loved to do; cutting down trees, enjoying the surroundings of nature with his dog Hunter by his side; at Green Lake, British Columbia.
Survived by and dearly missed by his wife Pauline, and their three children David, Rachael (Brock), and Stephanie (Scott). Four grandchildren; Ashton, Maverick, Stevie, and Viola. Also, survived by Brothers & Sisters: Karin, Budd (Gertie), David (Kelly) & Diana (Shane). Many extended family members and friends. Jock will be remembered and loved forever.
