Elizabeth passed away peacefully January 21, 2016 in Chilliwack at the age of 84. A daughter of the Fraser Valley, Liz grew up in Greendale and graduated from Chilliwack High School. She married Les in 1953 and started her cross country trek as a military wife. Her hobbies included beer making, needlework, gardening and betting on the ponies. In her later years, she was affected by dementia. Thanks to the nurses on the 5th floor, Jackie and Donna and Heritage Village.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Les; daughters Sandra and Dr. Tracey Melidy (Anthony); and grandchildren Connie and Andrew. She was predeceased by son, James Karl.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 4th at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #4, 9350 Mary St, Chilliwack; Major Haggerty officiating. Interment to take place at the Legion Cemetery on Friday, February 5th. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
