Visitation will be from 9-11am on Friday February 20, 2015 at Malec & Sons Funeral Home in Chicago, Illinois. Her funeral service will follow at 11am, also at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Niles, Illinois.
Theresa was born on February 25, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to Frank and Harriet (Blachowicz) Flasza. She graduated from Tuley High School, in Chicago, in 1952. She married Dominick Hooczko in 1954 (2 children, Steven and Alan) and re-married, in 1965, to Joseph Beason (2 children, Joseph and Susan). She worked at F.W. Woolworth & Co. for 30 years as a section merchandiser, winning several awards for store displays and customer service. Theresa enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, baking and playing Scrabble. She will be remembered most for her unique sense of humor and involvement in both community events and charitable causes.
Surviving are her children: Steven (Virginia) Hooczko, Alan Hooczko, Joseph Beason (Nick Dorochoff) and Susan (Peter) Wright; 5 grandchildren: Adam, Kyle, Sara, Allison and Nathan; 1 great-grandchild: Amber; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings: William, Mitchell, Bruno, Benedict, John, Raymond and Casmira Blachowicz; John, Peter, Antonette and Adeline Flasza.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (ACS), in honor of Theresa.
