Robert N. Bacon

Robert Neil Bacon, born May 2, 1946, made his transition to his heavenly home on Monday, May 15, 2017. Robert, affectionately known as Bob, had a sweet gentle spirit, quick wit, and was an exceptional poet. He will be remembered for being a God-fearing man whose love, kindness, poems and ministry to those in need impacted many. His thoughtful ways were shown through actions of sincere faith as he served both God and his community at Uptown Baptist Church, Apostolic Faith Church and Praise Tabernacle in Chicago, IL. He is survived by his older brother Wayne (JoAnn) Bacon, older sister Dolores (Jim) Kidd; daughter Patricia (Matt) Olive, three grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Ethel Bacon, younger brother Warren Bacon and his wife Connie Granger Bacon. He also leaves to cherish his memory, brothers/sisters in-law: Earthell Williams, George (Pat) Brownlee, Denver (Bette) Brownlee, Melbra Brownlee, Avis (Stanley) Wooley, Charlotte (Ira Joe) Spenser, Pamela Brownlee, Larkie Bates, Quincy (Baldomero) Tejeda, Varija (Marvin) Jackson.

Services are Monday, May 22nd at Drake and Son Funeral Home, 5303 N. Western, Chicago, Illinois 60625. Wake 11:00am; Funeral 12:00pm. Interment at Rosehill Cemetery.
