Nancy Willner Bauer entered heaven on April 4, 2023 after a long illness. She left behind her husband, Joseph Willner Sr, who cared for Nancy the last 16 months of her life. She also is survived by her three children, Joseph, Joann and John, and her 5 grandchildren Joseph Jr, Joshua, Michael, Samantha and Xavier. Nancy also leaves a sister Karen Ramos and brothers Edward Tapper and Michael Tapper. Nancy’s husband John Bauer preceded her in death, as did her brother Donald.
Nancy was a good friend to everyone who knew her. Her life was one of service to others. Not only was she a committed Addictions Counselor during her younger life, but after retirement she continued her mission of serving others. She held many retreats and healing services and was a faithful and committed friend of Bill Wilson for over 35 years.
Nancy was also a devoted big sister and stayed close to her sister and brothers her entire life. She also had many nieces and nephews and was a loving aunt to them all. Nancy was always helping others and is remembered for her kindness and loving witness to how God was present in her life. Her loss is felt by many who were blessed to know her.
Nancy’s life will be celebrated during a funeral Mass at St Anne Church in Hazel Crest, Illinois on April 13, 2023. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Foundation in Nancy’s memory.
