She was born on October 24, 1951, in Chicago, IL, to Robert and Virginia Holda. Linda was a graduate of Logan middle school, Schurz High School, and DePaul University. She worked at St. Wenceslaus elementary school, St. Viator elementary school, DePaul University, and most recently at Concordia Place. She recently retired last year after her illness made her unable to work.
Linda enjoyed traveling and most recently would frequently travel to Minnesota to visit her daughter. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Linda’s generosity was evident as she was always the first to help out anyone in need. Her fun loving attitude and big heart will be forever remembered. She will be greatly missed by all, especially those whose lives she touched.
On Sept. 27, 1981, Linda married Mark Courtenay in Chicago. A little over a year later they welcomed their daughter, Holly on November 16, 1982.
Linda is survived by her husband, Mark; daughter, Holly (Dar Finlayson); father, Robert; sister-in-laws Cynthia Courtenay and Linda (Sam) Tardio; and extended family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Virginia Holda; lifelong friend Tony Salvagio; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 28, 3PM to 9PM at Drake & Son Funeral Home, 5303 N. Western Ave. Chicago. Funeral Service Saturday, Sept. 29, 10 AM at Drake & Son Funeral Home.
