Leni is finally waltzing with the love of her life, the late Michael Schaefer. As a widowed mother, she raised her two children, Linda (Jake) Roth and Michael (Julie) Schaefer, with incredible love and pride. Luckily, she had a village of siblings to help her: John (Marie) Schaefer, Katherine (Jack) Gerhardt, Marie (Al) Melerski, and Barbara (John) Nebl.
She was blessed with the continued strength of her family, her work family, the James, and all of those who fled Liebling because of the war and assimilated themselves to their new homes in the United States.
She enjoyed the fruits of her labor in her grandchildren Melissa (Anthony) Roth-Giffen, Kaitlyn (Derek) Jeanneret, Christina Roth, Kimberly (Amanda) Parker Schaefer, Michael (Jasmine) Schaefer and the true apples of her eye: her great-grandchildren Jack, Logan, Madeleine, and Rowan.
Here is a toast to a woman who lived for her Cubs, loved her German Club, and never said no to a shot of schnapps!
