Ellen Buckley (Joyce) age 97, died peacefully on July 18, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband John A. Buckley. She was born in Chicago to Michael and Maryellen Joyce (Conroy) on April 4 1918. She was the youngest of their seven children: Edward (Mary Doody), Martin, Mae (Peter Dahl), Catherine (John Felzan), Joseph (Dora Grilli), and Emmett (Alice Fowler): her brother-in-law Timothy S. Buckley and sister-in-laws Lucille (Edward) Fisher,and Anamae (Robert) Kennedy all of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her four children: Kristine, Mary Pamela (Ray Zielinski), Anne Lucile, and John H. (Eileen): her loving grand-daughter, Camille and her many beloved nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Ellen was a teacher in the Chicago Public Schools. After her husbands death she taught in the Addison School District. As a young widow in Villa Park she raised her four elementary school children on her own. Ellen will be remembered as a kind, thoughtful, and open minded person who took on life's challenges with dignity, grace, and determination. Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church, 1420 West Granville, Chicago, Illinois. A visitation will be held before Mass from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church.
