Elena Gallardo Fuentes

Elena enjoyed cooking, watching telenovelas, listening to music and taking care of her husband, children, grandchildren, mother-in-law and sister over the years.

Elena was kind, gentle, and had a wonderful sense of humor. She cared for many children over the years with such a special touch it made them feel as if they were her own.

She and José were gracious hosts and their home was where many of their family and friends gathered and enjoyed her delicious meals together.

Elena is survived by her husband of 69 years José Rodriguez Fuentes; her two loving children Alex (Yolanda) Fuentes and Mony (Les) Boros; her loving grandchildren Viana (Jonathan) Abrams, Brandon (Lauren) Boros, Alyssa Boros, Gilberto (Edna) Fuentes and Rebecca Fuentes; her loving great grandchildren Sienna, Sloane, Emma and Aurora; she was the proud Madrina to many. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 11 from 3 pm to 7 pm, with a prayer service at 5:30 pm at Drake and Son Funeral Home, 5303 North Western Avenue, Chicago, IL 60625. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Monday, December 12 at the funeral Home. Burial will follow at Montrose Cemetery, Chicago, IL.
