Born in Chicago, IL on Monday January 24, 1938 to Raymond and Mercedes (née Sturch) Welter. U.S. Marine veteran. Retired Battalion Chief for the Chicago Fire Department. Devoted husband of Elizabeth née Skifano; beloved father of Mark (Susan) Welter and Michael Welter. Visitation Friday September 10, 2010 from 3:00pm until 9:00pm at The Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home 6901 W. Belmont Avenue Chicago where funeral services will be held 10:30am Saturday September 11, 2010. Interment and Military service to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hillside, IL. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Cancer Society or Rainbow Hospice appreciated.
