Carl Preston Corson

On August 26, 2022, Carl Preston Corson, long time resident of Lebanon Indiana passed away peacefully at the age of 93 in Chicago Illinois.

Carl was born on August 25,1929 in Bridgeton New Jersey to parents Carl Fisher Corson and Carrie Reburn Corson. After graduating from Bridgeton High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country in the Mediterranean. After his military service Carl earned his B. S. degree in Civil Engineering from Drexel University. It was at Drexel University that Carl met the love of his life, Sara Margaret (Margot) Aiken. They married and raised with devotion two daughters, Jocelyn and Jennifer.

Carl was an avid reader, birdwatcher, and a life-long steward of nature and the environment. His other interests included woodworking, gardening, computer programming, and volunteering at Boone County Senior Services. Carl was known for spoiling his grandchildren and his pets. He often said his grandchildren were the sparkle in his eyes.

Carl is survived by his daughters Jocelyn Corson Espinosa, and Jennifer Corson Thompson, son in laws Richard Espinosa and Scott Thompson, and grandchildren Aiken Lee Thompson, Tess Carolina Thompson (partner Oliver McCausland), and Elsa Ruth Thompson (partner Lilly Carr). Carl is preceded in death by his wife and best friend, Margot Aiken Corson and by brothers Charles and Clayton Corson.

Friends and family are gathering in Chicago on December 28, 2022 to celebrate Carl’s life.
