On that solemn Friday afternoon of May 24th, at 2:04pm, Gary completed his earthly journey, transitioning from this life to the embrace of the Divine. His departure leaves a profound void, yet it is a testament to the immense love he shared with all who knew him.
Gary's resilience was remarkable, a testament to his unwavering spirit. Since 1997, when he faced the harrowing challenge of surviving a frontal lobe aneurysm, his path was fraught with trials. Despite the relentless grip of memory loss and the ordeal of countless surgeries, Gary's response to life remained steadfast: "I'm Wonderful." Even in his final moments, he exuded that same indomitable spirit, leaving an indelible mark on all who crossed his path.
Born on September 21, 1957, Gary was the pride and joy of our parents, Jean and Walter Munich. As the eldest of four siblings, his presence brought light and laughter into our lives. From his school days in Chesterland to his service in the United States Army, which he joined with his best friend since 3rd grade, Larry Clark, and his career with the Broadview Heights Fire Department and Dominion East Gas Company, Gary's dedication and infectious charm endeared him to all.
Hi marriage to Sherry O'Leary blessed him with two sons, Kyle and Brett, who were the joy of his life. Despite the sorrow of losing our dear brother Keith and our father Walter, Gary's love for his family never wavered. He leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by our dear mother Jean, sisters Laura and Karen, his sons and their spouses, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless friends whose lives he touched with his warmth and kindness.
Gary's remarkable ability to find light amidst the darkness serves as a beacon of hope for us all. Though we mourn his physical absence, we take solace in knowing he is reunited with Keith and Dad, bringing comfort to our grieving hearts. As we bid farewell to our beloved brother, we hold on to cherished memories, grateful for the love he shared and the light he brought to our lives.
Gary will be laid to rest at Chesterland Township Cemetery alongside Dad (Walter) and brother Keith.
Rest in peace, dear Gary, knowing that your love will forever illuminate our hearts.
