Eleanor Mandau

Eleanor Mandau (nee Gleske), age 97, of Russell Township, passed away October 11, 2024 after a short illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Leslie Mandau. Devoted mother of Linda, Robert (Madelaine), and Richard (fiancé Carol). Loving grandmother of seven, great grandmother of sixteen. Dear sister of Gus Gleske and Lillian Kochis and sister-in-law of Harry Hackett and Gerry Mandau. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gottlieb Gleske and Emma Gleske (nee Netzel) and siblings: Elsie Rychak, Bertha Dudley, Alma Gleske, George Gleske, and Gladys Hackett.

She will be missed by her many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and neighbors. Eleanor was formerly an employee of General Electric and Great Lakes Cheese. She volunteered many years at the Orange Kiwanis Garage Sale. She was a founding member of Valley Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home located at 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland on Thursday, October 17 from 4-8pm. Funeral service will be held at Valley Lutheran Church located at 87 East Orange Street, Chagrin Falls on Friday, October 18 at 11am with visitation one hour before the service at the Church. Interment at Riverview Cemetery, Russell Township. In lieu of flowers, please consider donation in Eleanor’s memory to Valley Lutheran Church.
