Tony Kennedy

Tony Kennedy, 82, passed away Wednesday June 6, 2018. Tony was a man who loved his family, friends and his LORD. He graduated from Meadow High School in BENSON NC in 1956. He served with US Army from 1956- 1959. He moved to Chattanooga, TN from Huntsville Al. in 1968. Tony became a Christian in 1972 and served the LORD faithfully. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Tony ran multiple successful businesses, including Wally’s Restaurants, which he owned and operated from 1973- 2014. He also served on multiple boards in the restaurant industry.

Tony most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, laughing and reminiscing about stories from the past. He was a lifelong Alabama Crimson Tide football fan…ROLL TIDE!

He also had a passion for the less fortunate, always willing to help those in need.

He is preceded in death by his parents, LA Kennedy, Nita Davis Kennedy, and several brothers and a sister.

He is survived by his sons Glen (Sharon) Meadows, Greg (Kristie) Meadows, Gary (Meleah) Meadows, Don (Karen) Lewallen, brothers, Wayne (Barbara) Kennedy, Ralph (Kay) Kennedy, sister, Margaret Neal Kennedy, and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services, will be 3:00 PM Sunday, June 10, 2018 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev’s Steve Shoemaker and Richard Jones, and Greg Bolton officiating.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2-7pm and on Sunday from 1-3pm.

Interment will be held at 1:30PM Monday at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors.

David Meadows, Cade Meadows, Hunter Meadows, Bronson Patterson, Jeff Kennedy,

Scott Kennedy, Ralph Kennedy Jr will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you make a contribution to The Alzheimer’s Association, Gideon’s International, or the Hamilton County Humane Society.
