Thomas “Tom” Dempsey of Chattanooga, TN passed away on December 9, 2022 at age 79.
Tom graduated from City High School in 1961. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. After retiring from Southern Railway with 23 years’ experience as an Electrical Foreman, Tom went on to open Chattanooga’s longest operating dart store, T & A Darts, and was a prominent member of the Chattanooga darting community. He ran T & A Darts for over 30 years while honing his golfing skills at his second favorite pastime.
Tom is proceeded in death by his parents, Archie “Jack” Dempsey and Ruby Dempsey. He is survived by his son, Christopher “Chris” Dempsey and the love of his life, Tina Brown.
The Old Darter will be greatly missed by many in the darting and golfing communities. The family would like to offer special thanks to Pat, Christy, Dana, and Amiee.
Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at the funeral home. Graveside Services will follow at 2 PM at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Deacon Bob Hill officiating.
