Shirley was a graduate of Ward Belmont College in Nashville where she was involved in singing and theater. She went on to express her creativity through making needlework and other handicrafts for her children and grandchildren.
She also enjoyed reading and playing cards, board games and crossword puzzles. She liked eating out with her children, grandchildren, and close friends while bantering with the cooks and wait staff.
Shirley’s sense of humor and personable nature endeared her to many. She loved a good joke and a hearty laugh. She rarely complained and didn’t want people “fussing over her!”
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to NHC and Hospice of Chattanooga for the kindness and excellent care provided Shirley in her final days.
