She was born on July 14, 1944 in Charleston, South Carolina and would later move to Tennessee, where she graduated in 1963 from Notre Dame High School.
Together with her husband, Robert, they built a wonderful life together. Peggie was a great wife, mother and Nantoo (what her grandkids called her). Her greatest joy in life was her family and closest friends. She will be greatly missed.
Peggie was preceded in death by her parents, Elmo Dalton and Margaret Floyd Hammond and brother, John Thomas Hammond.
Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, Robert Rogers; her children, Sydney “Bege” Rogers, David (Shauna) Rogers; grandchildren, Jamie (Rachel) Rogers, Heather (Chuck) Long, Jared Byles, Jordyn Byles, Hunter (Brittany) Henry, Ashley Henry, Issaiah Rogers; great- grandchildren, Evee Long, Matthew Standridge, Cheyenne Henry, Kayden Henry; siblings, Anne Sander, Steve (Renae) Hammond, Trina (Ian) McLeod and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family would like to say a special thanks to the doctors and staff at Memorial Hospital for their love and care, especially Dr. Lee Hamilton.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM on Friday, August 12, 2022 at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Lakewood Memory Gardens East with long-time family friend, Father Jim Mallett officiating.
