She was born in 1969 in Chattanooga, TN to Martha Sells and the late Bobby Sells.
She was a 1987 graduate and honor student at Bledsoe County High School where she was a member of the Beta Club. She represented her school at a leadership conference in Washington, DC. Nancy was an avid runner, participating in numerous marathons.
Ms. Dodson was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Psychology and minors in Foreign Language and Sociology.
She was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church, Ooltewah Campus and a very devoted follower of Christ.
Her father, and brother Robert Sells preceded her in death.
Survivors include her mother, Martha Sells of Pikeville, TN; children Courtney Dodson and Garrett Dodson both of Chattanooga, TN; brothers, John (Tara) Sells of Pikeville, TN and Ron (Melissa) Sells of Germantown, TN; nieces Caroline and Carson Sells and Madeline and Emersyn Sells; aunt and uncle Reed and Lola Sells of Pikeville, TN; and several cousins.
The family will receive friends Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2024 in the East Brainerd Chapel with Pastor Randy Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
