Mary Jo Vaughn

She was born November 13, 1932 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Thomas Nathan and Rosaline Rucker Patterson.

Mary Jo attended Belmont College in Nashville.

She was a longtime member of Ridgedale Baptist Church and had taught the Abundant Life Sunday School Class for over 25 years. Mary Jo was also active in the Women’s Missionary Union.

She was Secretary for many years for American Lava Company, Oakwood Baptist Church, White Oak Baptist Church and was a former receptionist for Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Her husband Ed Vaughn and a sister Sarah Busch preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Greg Vaughn (Travis Crawford) of Atlanta, Georgia, Lin Rollins (Scott) of Dallas, Georgia, and Jennifer Sneed (Frankie) of Cleveland, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Edward Rollins, Timothy Rollins, Carissa Gaddis, and Nathan Sneed; and one great-grandson, Noah Sneed.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Valley View Chapel.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 12:00 p.m. at Ridgedale Baptist Church with Dr. Doug Plumlee officiating.

Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
