Mary Louise (Lee) Gross

Mary Louise Lee Gross, 96, of Chattanooga, affectionately known as Gran, went to live with Jesus on December 2, one day before her 97th birthday. She was a member of Ridgedale Baptist church since 1956 where she held Leadership roles in WMU, Baptist Women and GA’s and Acteens. She was also a Sunday School Teacher for many years and her passion was missions. She was a graduate of Central High School. She was best known as a homemaker who enjoyed celebrating her family through Sunday Lunches, birthday celebrations and attending every extracurricular active that involved her grandchildren. She was one of 9 children born to Eula Mae and Luther Lee. She was married to Wylie W. Gross, Jr for 67 years until his passing in 2016.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her 8 siblings, and her son, Wylie W Gross, III (Chuck).

She is survived by her daughters Cathy (Larry) Robbs- Baker, Lori (Mark) Kelley, Precious Niece, Joan (Nick) Waber, cherished daughter in law, Teresa Gross Powell, 6 grandchildren: Josh (Meredith) Robbs, Jordan (Kristen) Robbs, Chase (Lexy) Kelley, Kaiti (Travis) Coyman, Tyler (Amber) Gross, Krista (Adam) Rich; Great nephew Marc (Marissa) Brower and great niece Tina Brower. 8 great grandchildren, Stella and Will Robbs, Eli and Caleb Robbs, Conlee Coyman, Wyatt and Everett Gross, Ellison Rich.

A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 12:30 pm at Ridgedale Baptist Church with Dr. Doug Plumlee officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm before the service at the church. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Friendship Sunday School Class, former and active Deacons of Ridgedale Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
