A graduate of Kirkman Technical High School (1964), she lettered in choir and sat on the reunion committee since graduation.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Fred and Ruby McDowell Helton.
Survivors are her husband of 48 years, John W Sliger II; daughter, Rachel Fagerberg and her husband Erik (Louisville, KY); daughter Rebecca Oliver (Ringgold, GA); son, Carlton Sliger and his wife Coral (Chattanooga, TN); grandchildren (Katelyn Oliver, Elijah Sliger, Lauren Oliver, Joshua Fagerberg, Ava Kay Fagerberg); her sisters Bonnie Helton Mills (Michael), Patricia Helton Lively (David) and brother Tommy Helton (Vicki), sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunt, cousins and many friends.
Judy was a lover of life. She smiled the biggest at the sight of her children and her grandchildren. Her love for the Lord was evident in the way she treated others. She was a long time member of Highland Park Baptist Church, Grace Baptist Church and most recently Christway Community Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 21st, at Chattanooga Funeral Home Valley View Chapel with Doug Ray of Tullahoma, TN officiating. The interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 20th, at the funeral home.
