He was a member of Silverdale Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He truly loved God and his church family. He is now with his Savior and his loving wife Sandy. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. His whole family loved him very much.
He was born in Athens, Tennessee and he graduated from McMinn County High School where he loved and played football. After he graduated high school, he joined the U S Navy and was proud to serve his country. He loved all sports and was a Big TN VOLS fan. He loved playing golf with his family and all his friends. While he was in the Navy he was stationed in Great Bend, Kansas where he met Sandy the love of his life for 62 years. They married and moved to Chattanooga. He had five children. He sold insurance for a large insurance company until he opened his own insurance agency. He retired when he was 62 and traveled with Sandy all over the country and played gold with their good friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joe Dillard Brown Sr. and Marie Strickland Brown, his wife Sandra Christiansen Brown, son Marlin D Brown, sister Linda Brown Looper, and brother James Allen Brown.
He is survived by his sister Jane Brown Bowers (Jim), four of his children Curtis Brown (Marsha) Rock Hill, SC, Diana Hall Ringgold, GA, Ronnie Brown (Marti) Chattanooga, Michael Brown (Tami) Douglasville, GA. Grandchildren Chris Brown, Eric Brown (Holly), Haley Brown, Michael Hall Jr. (Debbie), Ami Gowan, Britni Hall, Stephen Brown, Rachel Pressnell (Kevin), Nathan Carter (Missy), Ian Brown, Jeffery Brown (Lauren), Jacob Brown, Molly Brown, Graym Brown, Michael Scott Brown, Alyssa Brown, Ashley Nakajima (Daisaku), and 23 Great Grand Children and one Great Great Grandchild Warren Brown. Lots of nieces and nephews from all over the country. He will be missed by all.
We will have a service given by Rev. Cliff Hudson at National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tennessee on April 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
