He was born January 20, 1983 in Knoxville, TN.
He was a 2001 graduate of Ooltewah High School. He received his undergraduate from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Dr. Nicely received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of
Tennessee School of Medicine in 2009. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency as a Chief Resident at Erlanger Medical Center in 2012.
He was the Medical Director for Hamilton Medical Emergency Department, the Hamilton Emergency Medical Services in Dalton, GA, and the Medical Director for The City of Dalton’s Covid Response.
Jason was known for his kind soul and deep love for his children and spending as much time as he could with them, whether it be traveling, spending time on the water, or being outdoors and teaching them about his passion for drone aerial photography, the OneWheel and bicycling.
Survivors include his wife, Kate Nicely; children, Isabella Nicely and Lucas Nicely of Chattanooga; parents Jerry & Judy Nicely of Chattanooga; brothers Jeff Nicely of Soddy Daisy and Michael (Holly) Nicely of Greenville, SC; and several aunts, uncles and cousins from Rose Hill, VA.
The family will receive friends Monday, December 13, 2021 from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Travis Jones officiating.
The family requests that visitors wear masks.
Private burial will be Tuesday Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to Erlanger Children’s Hospital or its Ronald McDonald House.
