He worked at the Y-12 Security Complex as a teenager and went on to enlist in the United States Army Air Force in 1945.
He is preceded by his mother, Ardella Mae McGhee, Father, Nep Henley Sr. and the love of his life, Imogene Lee.
Survivors include Jennifer Lee Pell, Jerry D. Bingham Jr., Edward Stakely, Jerry D. Bingham III.
There will be a graveside service on Friday, November 29 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
