Mr. Harold “Al” Weaver, 77, of Apison, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on October 13, 2022, in Tellico Plains, Tennessee.
He was born in Buena Vista, Georgia on June 30, 1945. Once graduating from Marion County High School in Georgia, he proudly served in the United States Navy in Vietnam, having been deployed onboard the USS Independence CV-61. After being honorably discharged, he later retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad as a general electrical foreman. He then was employed by Silverdale Baptist Church where he worked in maintenance for 15 years. Our “Daddy Weaver’s” greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was an avid gardener and an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a long-standing member of Silverdale Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raleigh and Ruby “Pope” Weaver; siblings, Ed Weaver, Louise Tyler, Nell Owens, Loraine West, Jeanette Icard, and his grandson Nathan Roberson. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 45 years, Lynne Akins Weaver; sister, Beverly (Steve) Hudson of Colorado; children, Melissa Weaver of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, Shawn Weaver of Ringgold, Georgia, Rena (Brian) Scoggins of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, Jeff (Becki) Jones of Cleveland, Tennessee and Kimberly Dill of East Ridge, Tennessee; Grandchildren, Jacqueline McPeters, Andrea (Eric) Sines, Jeffery Jackson, Aaron Melendez, Adrien Melendez, Raleigh Weaver, Megan (Cody) Elmore, Keith Scoggins, Jessica Jones, Madeline Jones, Ryan Jones, Ashley (Bradley) Britt and Zachary Dill; Great-grandchildren, Andrew Sines, Kota Jackson, Anakin Melendez, Boone Britt and Scottie Britt; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Private Graveside Services will be at held later at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors. There will not be any visitation at the funeral home.
