Donna accepted Jesus Christ as her lord and savior at an early age. She attended Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church. She was educated in the Chattanooga City School System and graduated from City High School class of 1977.
She was employed at Parkridge Hospital for over 30 plus years as a cook. She enjoyed being around her family and friends. There was no such thing as the word stranger when it came to Donna. She did not meet a stranger. She was a loving and kind person throughout life who opened her heart to everyone.
Preceding her in death are her parents, George and Linnie Ransom, nephew,brothers, uncles and aunts.
Those left to cherish her loving memory are her life partner for many years, Dana Scruggs, sons Cortez West and Dedrick Baldwin , daughter DeAngela Scruggs, grandson Karter Scruggs, Granddaughter Molly West, loving and devoted friend and sister Angela Ransom, sisters Pamela (Reginald Bowens, Chandra (Darryl) Finley, Rebecca Mireer, Ottie Bailey, Ernestine Ransom , Gloria Strickland, brothers Jerome Ransom and Kelvin Ellison. Several nieces and nephews, cousins, and a loving devoted brother-in -law Bobby Taylor
A lie in state for Donna will be held Friday, February 24, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Franklin-Strickland Chapel, 1724 Mccallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 24, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 1724 Mccallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404. A graveside service will occur Friday, February 24, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 1724 Mccallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
