Don is predeceased by his father, Felix Eugene Bishop; mother, Lois Virginia (Sneed) Bishop; and brother, Tony Eugene Bishop.
Don is survived by his two sons Sean (Courtney) Bishop and Shannon (Carmen) Bishop and his three grandchildren: Seth, Carlee, and Austin, who were the light of his life.
A veteran, Don served his country in United States Navy as a Radioman, during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Europe. His service to his country was a great source of pride for himself and his family. As the first in his family to graduate from college, Don earned his degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He remained a lifelong Vols fan.
Don had many accomplishments in his life. He served in leadership roles in several local businesses in the Dayton, Tennessee community. He was a member of LIUNA 846 were he retired. He will be remembered for his kind heart, quick wit, and his love for his family.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thanks to Gentiva Hospice and Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, Franklin-Strickland Chapel, for the great care and professionalism they showed during Don’s last days.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a future date and time which the family will announce.
