He was born on December 25, 1941 in Imboden, VA. Daniel was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He served in the U.S. Army for 21 years, followed by 19 years of service to the United States Postal Service. Daniel served God and was an active member of Silverdale Baptist Church. He loved the Braves, popcorn, coffee, and eating out. Daniel leaves a legacy of pointing others to Christ, telling hilarious stories, and loving his family well.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Clyde Carroll and Theda Marie Collier Carroll, and a sister, Dottie Patrick.
Daniel is survived by the love of his life and wife of 60 years, Betty Sue Leonard Carroll; his children Daniel Clyde (Laura) Carroll, Jr and Sabrina Michelle (Christopher Wade) Wilson; granddaughters Cindy (Will) Sullivan, Felicia (James) Johnson, Christi Wilson (fiancé Jordan Moses) and Lainey Wilson; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Samuel and Lenora Johnson and Jackson Adams; siblings, David (Giesla) Carroll, Doug (Mary) Carroll, Doris (Darrell) Stapleton, Debbie (Darryl) Gilly and Steve (April) Carroll; several nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, May 18, 2022, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tony Walliser officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
