He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyrus Shelton and Ruth Aileen Durfee Adcock; siblings, Wanda Ruth Hoelcher, Karol Cyrene Crank, William Frederick Adcock, Richard Earl Adcock, Alice Marie Adcock, James Allen Adcock, Larry Wayne David Adcock and Sarah Elizabeth Dossett.
Cyrus was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served for 8 ½ years. He retired as a District Manager with the Social Security Administration. After retirement, Cyrus went on to follow his passion of woodworking by owning and operating Broken Treasures Wood Working Shop.
Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Carolyn Adcock of Ooltewah, Tennessee; children, Kathy Proaps of Lenoir City, Tennessee, Alison Adcock (Kevin Slep) of Durham, North Carolina, Cyrus Matthew Adcock of Ooltewah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Cyrus Levi Adcock, Zadie, Solomon and Oona Slep, Jonathan (Kristi) Cornwell, Ashley Kate (Josh) Galyon; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jordan Galyon; siblings, Mary Sue (Chuck) Crooks of Meridian, Idaho, Martha Jane (Jim) Gray of Dallas, Texas, Anna Rosella (Morris) Burmester of Los Angeles, California, Stephen Douglas (Jenny) Adcock of Knoxville, Tennessee, Donald Ray Adcock of Paducah, Kentucky and many nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
