Cecil Douglas Pearce, Jr., age 78 of Chattanooga passed away Monday, November 11, 2013 in a local healthcare facility. He was born June 19, 1935 in Chattanooga to the late Helen & Cecil Douglas Pearce, Sr.
He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, the Chattanooga Power Squadron, and the Chattanooga Rifle Club. He was a past Commodore with the Privateer Yacht Club.
Cecil was a well-known photojournalist for the Chattanooga Times Newspaper for many years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Kay Greene Pearce; son, Richard G. (Meg) Pearce, Sr.; daughter, Susan P. (Jim) Holloway all of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Richard G. (Christy) Pearce, Jr., Jennifer (Shane) Green, Michael Holloway, and Katie Holloway; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Chattanooga Memorial Park with Rev. Mark Flynn officiating.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
