We will always remember Brian’s big smile and his warm welcomes at Sports Barn downtown. He became your friend and was happy to see you each time. 
I’m sorry the world was made a little dimmer without Brian and his admirable personality. I know his family must miss him every day. I am sorry. 

So sad to hear about Brian.   He was such a kind person and whenever I was downtown I always tried to stop by the Barn and say hello to him… only today to be given this terrible news.  I’m sorry I didn’t know and that I didn’t get to see you one last time. I’ll miss visiting with you my friend.  

Brian and I were roommates at UTC.  I only discovered today that he had passed.  Brian was the most amazing person and friend, and he influenced my life in so many ways.  I cherish the memories of his laughter, his smile, and and his integrity.  I am disappointed that I will not see my friend again in this life, but I look forward to our reunion in heaven one day.  Rest In Peace, Roomie.  I am sad to lose you, but I’m happy that your suffering is over.

Brian will always have a special place in my heart. I met him at the Sports Barn downtown several years ago and over the years he became like a big brother to me. He always had the right thing to say at the right time. I will never forget his smile and words of encouragement. In one of our last conversations his advice to me was "stay positive and things will work out".  He was so correct and I  am sad that I didn't get the opportunity to tell him in person. There is no doubt in my mind that Heaven gained an angel named Brian Harrison. RIP Sports Barn friend, we will miss you.

For many years Brian welcomed Sports Barn members with a kind word and a smile that would make our day better.   I am truly sorry for his passing and my sympathy is with his family and friends.

How will we get along without Brian? I think he knew everybody in Chattanooga and every member's name at the SB.  The front desk downtown will never be the same without him there to greet you. He would do anything for anybody and loved being of service to others. His life is an example for the whole world to follow. 

I never had the honor of meeting Brian, but I kept him in my prayers each day for a long time. When a dear friend of Brian's asked me to pray for Brian, I could not think of a better gift than to be asked to do so. I could tell from Brian's emails that he was a kind and Godly man.  He is with his heavenly Father which I know brings us comfort but it is our earthly loss that brings sadness. Please always remember that our Father is always walking beside us in our grief to comfort  us. We are never alone in our walk.  We can look forward to the future when we will see our Lord and Brian once again.

I met Brian at the Sports Barn. He was a friendly face who took the time to ask how you were doing. He was a sincere listener if you needed or just a smiling face, if all was good. He treated each person the same with kindness and respect.  He made everyone feel welcome and treated them as if they mattered equally. The world has lost a very good person and a  very kind soul. Thank you Brian. 

I joined the Sports Barn about the same time Brian started working there. Never anything less than a wonderful person and all-around great guy.  Always enjoyed talking to him at the front desk.  He always smiled and never even mentioned his troubles. 

I miss him.

My sincere condolences to the Harrison family for the way to soon loss of your beloved Brian. He was as I will always remember , a  person of integrity with a kind and gentle heart. My relationship with Brian began n 1983 when I had  the pleasure of recruiting and eventually signing Brian out of Stephens County High School in Toccoa Ga. to a football scholarship  at UT Chattanooga. Unfortunately, Brian suffered a career ending knee injury. True to the character of Brian and with the help of Coach Buddy Nix and Mike Royster he was able to finish his degree work at UTC and later began his career at the Sports Barn in Chattanooga where I was a member. What a tremendous human being. This world needs more people like Brian. RIP my friend. God bless and peace. Johnny Henderson

I am so saddened by this news.   I had the privilege of coaching Brian in high school and I guarantee he did more for me than I for him.  I’ve never met a person with such an endearing smile and personality than Brian.  I enjoyed the times he would come by my house after high school just to talk and say hello.  
May god bless his family and May the lord wrap his loving arms around them and comfort them.  Brian will be greatly missed by many. 

Prayers for Brian’s family he was  a teammate while we were at UTC.  Brian’s positive attitude,smile and laugh I will never forget.  He was someone that was easy to love being around.  I remember all of us watching in amazement as he bench pressed over 500 lbs. Enjoy Heaven brother.

We met in August 1984 at UTC as roommates and teammates. A bond was created from that point on. A loving and caring spirit he had and he is missed dearly. Always smiling all the way up till the Lord called him home. 

Such a loss!  Brian was so incredibly kind, sweet and wonderful to everyone he came in contact with. What an example he set for all of us. It was a blessing and to have known him. 

Brian was an old soul...one of those people that you just knew had an internal compass that was always pointed in the right direction...someone that you could follow without hesitation..polite..strong..wise and good..i have no doubts about his position in the heavenly relms with our creator...love you brother...rest easy.xxx

Brian was an incredible person. I worked with him for 4 years at the Sports Barn Downtown and he was pleasure to be around. Before moving from Chattanooga to Florida in 2014, he invited me to a men’s ministry at his church that was very enlightening as a young man that was newly married. On my last day with the group, he promised me that he would text me every week a word of encouragement and/or a bible verse for guidance. We had a few conversations on the phone over the years but he NEVER missed a week in 7 years. Some of those messages came at a perfect time for my wife and I over the years. I am very thankful for his friendship and he will be truly missed. 

Having known Brian from his first day working at the Sports Barn  I cannot recall a single time that he was not smiling, kind and gracious to everyone.  Even during his illnesses he  embraced life and those who came into contact with him. Without question he will be missed and remembered fondly by everyone.  You had a life well lived my friend -now rest!

Brian was a friend to everyone. If I was walking by the Sports Barn, I'd stick my head in,  just to see his smile. You always felt better after talking with this wonderful man.

I have known Brian over half my life. I started working at the Sports Barn DT in 1998 at the front desk. I worked alongside him many afternoons for several years.  I  remember laughing a lot. Big Dog always had a keen ability to put me in a better mood if I was having a bad day.  After I left the front desk,  Brian and I remained close friends and talked often. His memory will live on for those of us that knew and loved him,  which is everyone who met him. His legacy, to me, is of an enduring friendship that lasted beyond our time working together. Dear Family,
So sorry for your loss. Brian was a mountain of a man in so many ways. I was honored to have coached both Brian and Danny. Brian was as tough and strong as any I ever coached. He was also gentle and kind to all. Brian gave me a great gift by calling me nearly a year ago. He told me about his health status but focused on telling me how he appreciated all I had done to help him.  I assure you he helped me much more than I ever helped him just by giving me that call. I called him a few months back (day of his last treatment) he never mention anything but how proud he was of his family. He is in great company in heaven! He will be missed.
