She was the daughter of the late George Y. and Anne Marie Meyer and was preceded in death by her five siblings, Mary Meyer, George Meyer, Ruth Darragh, Mildred Kline, Carl Meyer, and grandson, Timothy Alexander “Tanz” Kane.
She was a longtime member of St. Stephen Catholic Church where she served joyfully for many decades. Her church family was like a second family to her.
Nancy earned her master’s degree in English from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was a former teacher. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Brainerd Golf Course.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry P. Kane, of Chattanooga, TN, four children, Kathleen Clark, of Roswell, GA, J. Patrick Kane, Jr., of Statham, GA, Peggy Humphreys (Wes), of Knoxville, TN, Timothy Sean Kane, of Schaumburg, IL, ten grandchildren, Ryan, Sam, Kevin, Brandon, Katie (Ray), Christopher (Allison), Brennan (Alex), Emily (Jeff), Bailey, Challie (Christian), six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her fur baby “Bogey”.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga and Martin Boyd Christian Home for the exceptional care and love Nancy received.
A funeral mass will be conducted at 11:00 am, on Friday, October 14, 2022, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 7111 Lee Highway, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37421, with Father Manuel Perez officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am, Friday, October 14, 2022, at the church.
