Born in Norwood Massachusetts July 19th 1968, he was the beloved youngest child of Tom and Beth (Flanagan) Gillis. He was raised in Dover MA and graduated from Noble and Greenough High School in 1986. He went on to obtain an engineering degree from Brown University in 1990 and an MBA from New York University.
Colin began his career in start-up tech but eventually moved to New York City and spent many years in the Finance world. He worked for RBC Capital, Canaccord Genuity and BGC Financial, among others. In 2018 he moved his family to his favorite spot, Chatham, and founded Chatham Road Partners providing consulting and research to a variety of clients. Most recently he was employed by Kaleyra as Vice President of Investor Relations – a job he loved that energized him. Colin was a well-known for his frequent TV appearances on CNBC and MSNBC where his charismatic personality and expert stock advice was an audience favorite. He was also a licensed Realtor and had a passion for local Real Estate. When he wasn’t working Colin loved doing handiwork around the house, skiing, and watching NFL with his wife and son. He loved playing his guitar on his deck and his music could be heard across Nantucket Sound where he was frequently spotted with his family in his Boston Whaler.
He is the cherished husband of Louise (Kendziora) for 22 years and father to Chatham Rhodes Gillis, a freshman at Monomoy High School. He also leaves behind his Father, Thomas Gillis of Ft Myers Florida, his three sisters Betsey Warden and her husband Bill Warden of Newport Beach CA, Kate Kjeell and her husband Bille of San Clemente CA, Christina Stevens of Chatham, MA and his brother Tom Gillis of Los Altos Hills, CA, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a large and loving extended family.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the visiting hours held Friday April 21st from 4p-7p at Nickerson Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Road, Chatham. A Memorial Service will be held at the same location on Saturday, April 22nd at 11am.
