I miss you my good friend. I think of you often and am so grateful that I met you soon after I moved to the Cape. You are forever in my heart❤️❤️

I first met Annie and Pete when I called the Shore Dr # in hopes of renting for a week on beautiful BayView. This was 2006. Rented a few times over the years and remained very close to them.  It was hard not to, as they treated us like family. Pete is still so thoughtful and great with my kids just as Annie had been since Day 1  The highlight of renting was knowing the two of them would be in the ‘in-law’, and sharing that screenporch- as well as the beach- 38 steps down.  Thank you, Annie- for treating and loving us as if we were Shimmels. You are missed and will continue to be thought of often 💗

Dear Peter, Pam and Pete,
I was so sorry to hear this news. Anne Marie was dear to everyone in my family, and I have especially fond memories of spending part of the summer in Chatham with you all when I was 16. Anne Marie was one of the most loving people I've ever known and I can only imagine how badly she'll be missed.

Mrs. Schimmel was the most fashionable, upbeat, and cool educator at Nauset Regional Middle School when I was a student there from 1980-1984. She always had a smile on her face and heels on her feet. I was in awe as a young girl, she seemed like a movie star to me. Clearly from all of the posts she was just that to her family and friends. Love and light to you all and please know she lives on in many a heart.

I was heartbroken when I heard the news Annie (kissing cousin) had passed. She was one of my favorite people in the planet. I will miss her hugs and the twinkle in her eye. She was a bright light! She will be missed dearly. I’m grateful we got to spend a little time together in May. Sending love to Big Pete, Little Pete and Pam, Jake and Jenn ❤️

Annie and I have been friends for well over 60 years, we had many adventures as young girls and shared lots of laughs.

So very sad to hear that Anne (Mrs. Schimmel) past away. She was a rare person....with so much energy, love, and beauty inside and out! 
All of my family treasure the summer memories spent on Shore Dr. as your neighbors. My brother Steve says Mrs. Schimmel was "the queen of our Camelot days on Cape Cod." I couldn't agree more.
I feel privileged to have known her.

Anne's love of life was her aura. She was a glorious being who always brought joy, laughter and love to every situation. Whether you were a neighbor from decades ago shopping in a grocery store or attending a play in a theater, it didn't matter. Hugs and hellos for everyone she knew.  I am delighted to say she was a friend and if my mom were still alive, she'd say the same thing. They're probably reminiscing over coffee in heaven and having lots of laughs!! My first adventure with the Schimmel family was about twenty five years ago. We were driving around trying to find a place by the ocean to spend our annual summer vacation. We drove by the cottage and I could feel something pulling me to stop. As I walked down the path by the side of the cottage lined with giant clam shells I was drawn into a magical place. Annie made everyday magical. We spent every summer thereafter in her loving embrace. My mother came with us for many years and Annie always had a special connection for her and my son and husband. We enjoyed many meals together in Dennis and in Chatham. Our sailing trips on Pegasus allowed us a glimpse into Annie and Peter’s life together. I listened to stories of Annie’s life. She loved her house by the sea and looked forward to packing up for the move to the beach house. I am missing her loving hugs and kind spirit. She was beautiful in an ethereal kind of way, her hair flowing long down her back and long dresses billowing in the ocean wind. Annie was everything to me. She became my son’s “grandmother” and gave him all the love and support he needed as he was growing up. How blessed we are to have had just a small piece of a shared life. Annie you inspired me to be a better person and live a life on my own terms with a love of the ocean that goes beyond words. Love you forever.

Your Mom was always someone I loved to watch and listen to. Her colorful personality and smile  always adorned with a matching lipstick .  She knew how to make me( and many others) feel loved , accepted, and validated.  Though I had the sense she didn’t always feel that way herself. The last session I did with her I told her how much she was loved and that she WAS enough. This world will not be the same without her dimpled smile. 

My best friend  and  a great loss to all of us. She always lit up the world and anyone who was down, Great memory pictures , Pam She will always be in my heart.

Annie and I have been neighbors on Shore Drive for over 25 years. We have had numerous conversations, shared cocktails and watched many sunsets from the deck. It was always a toss up between which shone brighter, Annie or the setting sun!

Annie was always my Shore Dr neighbor. Friends since the early 60’s, we’d visit and swim and dine together.  If you needed a big hug or a good laugh, go to Annie❣️  I loved her like a sister and always felt at home at the beach house. I’ll miss her but will always remember her with a smile and love. Rest In Peace sweet Annie❤️



Annie was  a treasured part of my childhood.  I'll always think of Annie as the barefoot redhead in her bikini, heading across the street to share a "cuppa" with my mom and lots of jokes with my dad.  She was spirited, full of life, and always made us laugh.  She had a big open heart, was open and easy to talk to.  She was full of love.

Annie was the kindest and funniest person with an extraordinary imagination! She would cat sit for my two Siamese kitties and tell them stories. She always left me notes telling me of her adventures with Zoe and Jessie. Mentally dressing them for some magnificent Gala or just mentally playing in the garden and hiding amongst the flowers. It was always 
a joy to read these tales and we had hoped to publish them. She will be sorely missed by all. Thank you Annie for being you. Love Marianne and Bill
