Martha Lee Lynch (Jenkins), 82, of Charlottesville, passed away on July 14, 2024 at Martha Jefferson Hospital. Born August 18, 1941 in Charlottesville, Martha was the daughter of the late Melvin M. and Ressie D. Jenkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank “Max” Maxwell Lynch, 3 sisters Ruby Koontz of Fluvanna County, Faye Nichols of Luray, VA, and Judy Blair of Fort Worth, TX. Ms. Lynch attended and graduated from Albemarle High School. She worked at the University of Virginia in the Bursars Office for a while and then in the Summer Session Office. She retired after 35 years of service. Ms. Lynch was a devoted member of the Belmont Baptist Church. She was in the adult choir for many years and she became a Deacon of the church also. She loved her church community and they loved her. Survivors include her 4 sons, Jeffrey O. Lynch and wife Bonnie S Lynch of Waynesboro, VA, John M. Lynch of Charlottesville, Michael “Mike” Lynch and wife Laurie N Lynch of Gainesville, Florida and Mark E. Lynch and wife Virginia (Ginny) Lynch of Summerville, SC She is also survived by 4 brothers Jimmie Jenkins and friend Bernice Tanner of Detroit, MI, David Jenkins and Wife Karen Jenkins of Newbury Park, CA, Gerald Jenkins and wife Helen Jenkins of Charlottesville, VA and Ray Jenkins of Ludowici, GA. 6 Grandchildren, and 6 Great Grandchildren and many other family and friends. Visitation and Viewing will be from 6pm to 8pm on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at Belmont Baptist Church, 830 Monticello Ave. Charlottesville, VA. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, July 22, 2024 at Belmont Baptist Church with Pastor Greg Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, 3251 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville, VA. There will be food served in the church fellowship hall after the interment. All who want to come and visit with the family are welcome. The family wishes to express their thanks to the Doctors and Nurses at Martha Jefferson Hospital who cared for Martha during her illness.
