Mr. Ludwig Campagna

Ludwig Campagna, lovingly known as “Lud” passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, August 19, 2024, at the age of 93. Lud was born in Tyrone, Pennsylvania to Ulderico and Frances Campagna on February 8, 1931. During his 93 years of his life, Lud was known for his positive outlook on life, his corny humor, his love of puzzles, his passionate support of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State and UVA sports. Lud received an associate’s degree in engineering from Penn State and worked at General Electric as a project engineer until his retirement. He was a proud blood donor, dedicated walker and an avid handyman. In addition to his parents, Lud is preceded in death by his three younger siblings, Dolores, Samuel and Gary, and his first wife Joanne. Lud is survived by his loving wife Jeanne, his two daughters Laurie Gibson and her husband Steve, and Janet Campagna and her husband Stan; his four grandchildren Christopher and wife Jacquelyn, Jacob, Lindsey and Anna and husband Levi, his new great grandson Thomas; and his five stepchildren, Patricia Best and her husband Scott, John Mueller, Carol Cirilli, Lynn Mueller and her wife Kristy and Paula Mueller, and six step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. There will be a Celebration of Lud's Life on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 11:00 am at Meadows Presbyterian Church, 2200 Angus Road, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
