Gary Lee Vickers

Gary Lee Vickers, 71, of Albemarle, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 4, 2017. He was born in Oklahoma on August 8, 1946, son of the late James and Inez Vickers. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Vickers. He is survived by his sister, Lynn and her husband, Bill Stewart; two sons, Chad Vickers and wife, Dianne, and James Vickers; three grandchildren, Ashton, Riley, and Gavin Vickers; and a number of nieces, nephews, and family in Oklahoma. Gary was a veteran of the Vietnam War, and retired from the Hantzmon and Wiebel accounting firm. Dad loved playing golf, watching sports, and keeping up with his beloved stocks. He was always there with a smile and a good story. He enriched the lives of all those he came into contact with. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2017, at Teague Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, December 7, 2017, at the funeral home.
