Evelyn Marie Conley, 89, of Charlottesville, passed peacefully on November 29, 2021 at Rosewood Village. Evelyn was born on August 14, 1931 in Madison County, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Conley, Sr. and Bertha Morris Conley. Evelyn graduated from Lane High School and began her working career at National Bank and Trust September 1, 1955 which later became Wells Fargo from where she retired in 1997. While there she worked in many different departments including Bookkeeping, Proof, Audit and the Settlement Department. Evelyn was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church where she attended Sunday Services as long as her health allowed and volunteered in the office for many years. She was an avid UVA sports fan and attended many games with family and friends, and accompanied her family on many trips including Italy, Greece, Switzerland, as well as cruises. She was a lifelong Elvis devotee and loved live country music shows. Evelyn hosted annual Christmas Eve parties and Easter dinners for her family for decades, and made the holidays special for her family, especially her nieces and nephews who have fond memories of these gatherings. Evelyn is survived by her sister-in-law Joanne Conley, 9 nieces and nephews, 5 great-nieces, one great-great-niece and one great-great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her brother Robert Lee Conley, Jr.; sister Martha Anne Conley Hunt and brother-in-law Luther Monroe Hunt, Jr.; and sister Gracie Conley Dulaney. The Family wishes to express a heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Rosewood Village and Hospice of the Piedmont who took great care of her. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021, from 6-8pm, at Teague Funeral Service. Graveside service will be Friday, December 10, 2021, at 3pm, at Monticello Memorial Gardens, and a service in celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at 1pm, at First Presbyterian Church.
