Mr. Clyde Gibson Jr.

Clyde Amos Gibson, Jr. 82, of Greenwood, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 28, 1939 in Albemarle County. Clyde is preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Myrtle Gibson; his son, First Class Petty Officer Brian Gibson of the United States Navy; his brother, Bobby Gibson and a special Uncle, Cecil Gibson. Clyde is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret (Peggy) Gibson; his son, Michael Gibson and wife, Norma of Waynesboro, VA; his daughter, Michelle Compton and her husband, Derek of Grottoes, Virginia; four grandchildren, Kayla Moran, Ryan Moran, Joshua Gibson and Brian Gibson; one great granddaughter, Avery Moran; his brother, Filmore Gibson and his wife, Becky of Charlottesville, VA; his sister-in-law, Wanda Gibson of Troy, VA and several nieces and nephews. Clyde was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He worked for Acme Visible Records in Crozet, VA for over 30 years. Clyde will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
