To his friends and family—who knew him simply as Vince—he was first and foremost a fighter. His physical limitations were never a permanent roadblock, only a challenge to be overcome.
For his parents, George and Judith Burney, the eldest of their four children was a special source of joy.
To his wife of 27 years, he was a loving and devoted partner.
Vince lived his life with uncompromising loyalty to Jehovah. His example as a Christian elder inspired many to reach out, and many more to continue without giving out.
Reserved, but unselfish. Knowledgeable, but humble. A listening ear. An endearing spiritual brother. And a smile that was hard to forget. He was all these things and more. He will be sorely missed.
He leaves behind his wife Sherri; parents George and Judith; brothers Alex (wife Chiquita) and Ryan (wife Chris-Ann); sister Regina (deceased); grandmother Susie Brown; aunts Jacquelyn, Barbara, Carol, Gwendolyn, LaJoyce (husband Bobby), and Hortense (husband Peter); uncles Roger, Hubert and Donald; father- and mother-in-law Garry and Patricia Bullard; brother-in-law Kenneth (wife Denaya); sister-in-law Denise; nieces and nephews Kayla, Natalia, Kenneth, Kiara, Keyon, Avery, and Kandice; four great-aunts; and a host of other cousins, loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 15th at Harry & Bryant Co., 500 Providence Road in Charlotte. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1041 Guilford Road, also in Charlotte.
