Virginia Ham Beach

She was born on October 21st, 1921 in (Fulton County) Atlanta, GA to the late Joseph William Ham and Exie Mae Cochran. Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Eugene Beach; son, Ronald “Ronnie” Eugene Beach; brothers J.W., Jerry, Wayne, and Bobby Ham; sisters Dorothy “Dot” Carter and Elizabeth Brooks.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Greenhill (Rick); 4 grandchildren, April Baker (Jeremy), Ashley Sawyer (David), Ron Beach (Sylvia), Lea McGrady; 7 great-grandchildren; sister Shirley McCallum and brother Frederick “Buddy” Ham.

Virginia grew up in Georgia and in 1963, moved with her family to Charlotte, North Carolina. Aside from raising two children, she devoted most of her life to fostering and caring for children. She loved dancing, trips to the beach, hummingbirds, and her family!

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the Hospice staff and the staff at Charlotte Square Assisted Living for their love and compassionate care that they gave her.

A service to celebrate Virginia's life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 22, 2021 at McEwen Funeral Service - Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road in Charlotte.
