Mr. Putman, 55, of Charlotte, NC, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Liberty Nursing and Rehab which had been his home for 15 ½ years.
Tim was born May 28, 1957 in Charlotte, North Carolina, one of two sons to James J. Putman and Shirley Jackson Putman. He was a retired Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Deputy and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and North Carolina Sheriff’s Association. Tim was a life-long member of Amity Presbyterian Church where he had served as a Boy Scout with Amity Boy Scout Troop # 124.
The family will gather to greet friends from 11:00 AM until 12 Noon, Wednesday, November 28, 2012 in the Parlor of Amity Presbyterian Church. A service to celebrate his life will follow in the sanctuary at 12 Noon with The Reverend Betsy Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery in the family plot. There will be a reception and greeting of friends in Johnston Hall, at the church, following the committal service.
Tim is survived by his father and mother, Jim and Shirley Putman of Charlotte, NC; his brother, Terry L. Putman, Sr. of Raleigh, NC; a nephew, Lindsay Putman, II and his wife, Allison of Raleigh, NC and niece, Margaret Ann Putman of Myrtle Beach, SC; two great nephews: James Wray Putman and Henry Tyree Putman.
