I was at First Step with Shannon before she went home in December of 2011.  She was the first person to make me feel welcome and I admired her tattoo on her chest which she later explained to me that she drew herself and each meaning behind it.  She taught me so much in the 3 weeks I spent with her.  I’m a very random, spontaneous person and with Shannon- that was brought out more and we usually had everyone laughing at us.  I’ll never forget everyone being informed of her passing.  A year later I wound up there and another first step alum came to visit when a random person said “who is Shannon Rose?”.. we each got chills as we didn’t mention her name at all.  I think about her and her outlook on life almost daily and am now a little more than 5 years clean.  I like to think she’s helping me with this journey.  I’ve lost a daughter since- and it brings me peace knowing that she’s dancing in the sky with Shannon❤️

Dear Greg, Rose, and Amber,
Mary and I remember Shannon every day, and pray for each of you by name. Our hearts break with yours, but "we do not grieve like those who have no hope" (1 Thess. 4:13). For since we know for a certainty that our Lord Jesus is alive from the dead forever more, He has promised us that "to be absent from the body is to be at home with Him" (2 Cor. 5:8)! What a great reunion is coming our way--soon (1 Thess. 4:13-18)!

I think of Shannon every day and pray for her family.  I miss her.

My heart breaks for your loss.  I remember when I met Shannon.  Connor and I had walked into the Flip Flop Store at Carolina Place Mall.  I turned to her and asked if she was your daughter.  With her sweet smile and beautiful blue eyes, she said yes.  We spoke about you and what a wonderful mother she had!  Rose you have to know she is ok,  She is in a much better and safer place.  She is Home!!!! I have sent and will continue to send many prayers for strength and peace.  Please I am here if you need anything.

Indian Land High School was blessed to have Shannon as a member of our student body for a short while.  She was a fantastic student and a shining star.  Our sympathies to her family for their loss.

What a lovely service today.  Shannon touched so many lives so deeply in her short time dancing among us.  So much love in her that she needed to share it with everyone.  Rose and Amber, I know you will hold each other up through this but if there is anything that we can do to help, please let me know. I met Shannon about a month ago and I instantly liked her.  She was a free spirit with a huge heart and so much to give. She helped me out daily with just seeing her smile. She created a beautiful picture of the tree of life and I am framing it but when I got home I put it on my Refrigerator door.  When I got the call about Shannon on Monday and was on the phone and I walked into the Kitchen and saw it.  It means so much to me and I am going to frame it so I will always remember Shannon.  She was super talented at both her artwork and her musical skills as well.  I already miss her.

Love goes out to Shannon's family I know you are going down a difficult road.  It is heartbreaking when someone as talented and beautiful as shannon passes way too early.

My prayers go out to the family at this great time of loss. May the God of all comfort comfort you at this time.

Therefore, I smile as I close my eyes and see the 3rd grade Shannon...her smile, her eyes, and the genuine sweetness that she exuberated.
