Samantha Miller

Sam was taken from this world abruptly, just hours after she said “I do” to the love of her life, Aric Hutchinson; just minutes after she left her wedding venue, where she spent the entire day surrounded and celebrated by friends and family. The decisions of a reckless drunk driver marked Sam’s special day as her last.

Sam is survived by her husband and soulmate, Aric Hutchinson; by her mom and best friend, Lisa Miller; by her fathers, David Miller and Brad Warner; and by her siblings, Nathan Miller, Mandi Jenkins, Joseph Miller, and Jake Warner, amongst many others."

The tragedy of Sam’s passing has been grieved by the nation, by those who had the pleasure of knowing her and complete strangers alike. While the outpour of condolences and support have provided comfort and consolation in the wake of Sam’s wrongful death, many who have expressed this kindness are unfamiliar with the person she was. This is Sam:

Samantha was pure light and contagious love. Her smile said it all. She delivered peace, confidence, and laughter everywhere she roamed, and never shied away from a vulgar joke or two.

Sam was as bold as she was tender; as compassionate as she was fearless. She was a beautiful force to be reckoned with. It is impossible to fully capture just how unbelievably special she was.

She embraced a rare kind of authenticity.

Every ounce of her glowing personality made an appearance on her wedding day.

Her fearlessness –– shown by her eagerness to walk down the aisle. She had no nerves nor hesitation. Aric was her person. They shared a kind of love that most people will never know.

Her compassion, an itch to make everyone around her feel loved and heard –– shown by the dance Sam surprised her mother with on her big day. The DJ introduced it as “a dance with the most important person in the bride’s life”. Sam was the mastermind behind this inexpressibly special moment.

And her ability to light up a room –– shown by the joy and radiance felt by every person who attended her wedding. If at any point you looked around, you would have been met with a sea of smiling faces. From walking down the aisle and cutting the cake to showing off her rhythm on the dance floor, she was illuminated.
