Ruby Jean Jones

Ruby was born on June 10, 1948, in High Point, NC. She was the daughter of Betty Hunsucker Jones Lax and Jimmie Jones. Ruby was an avid golfer, traveler, and the ultimate caregiver. In addition, Ruby was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC. Ruby was the cornerstone of her family and demonstrated her gift by being a loving, thoughtful, and generous wife, mother, and grandmother. Ruby was married to her loving husband Tim, and they recently celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary in June.

Whether at the beach or on her patio, Ruby loved talking and spending time with her friends. She was known for her sense of humor and practical jokes that were always punctuated by her beaming smile. Ruby would do anything to help others and started her own balloon delivery business to share her joy. She also worked with cancer patients in Charlotte to help them recover and regain their self-confidence. Ruby lived a life of tremendous passion and service toward others and will be dearly missed.

Ruby was predeceased by her husband Tim Jones. Ruby is survived by her three sons, Tim Jr., wife Christal, and grandson Landon of Purcellville, VA; Chris, wife Pam, and grandson Jack of Ridgefield, WA; Robert of Sacramento, CA, step-grandson Braxton, granddaughter Haley, and grandson Austin.

Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Friday, October 4, 2024 at McEwen Funeral Service – Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill, NC. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM at on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greensboro, NC.
