Ronald Eugene Pettit of Charlotte passed away peacefully on Sunday November 24, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center surrounded by his family. Mr. Pettit was born on March 25, 1946 and was the son of the late Ike and Virginia Crosby Pettit. Ronald was preceded in death by his brother, Barry Wayne James. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Ruby Pettit, daughter, Cindy Cruse and husband David of Concord, son, Ike Edward Pettit and wife Leigh of Denver, brothers Larry (Vern) Pettit of Denver, George Pettit of Florida, Jerry James of South Carolina, and sister Libby and husband Jim Hinson of South Carolina, grandchildren; Jonathan “Jay” Cruse of Concord, Amber Cruse of Salisbury, Karleigh and Grant Pettit of Denver and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends on Friday November 29, 2013 form 5pm-8pm at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home, 4601 Freedom Drive Charlotte NC 28208. Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 30, 2013 at 11:00AM at Emmanuel Baptist Church 600 Peachtree Road Charlotte NC 28216 with Pastor Glen Flowe officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
