Robert Page Sargeant

Rob, age 54, of Charlotte went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, July 19, 2016. He was born May 11, 1962 in Charlotte, the son of Bettie Jean Sargeant and the late John Page Sargeant, Jr. He joined the United States Air Force in 1982 and, as a Staff Sergeant, was assigned to the cryptology unit, serving proudly for eight years. He later joined Bell South working in network operations and was a member of Harbor Baptist Church.

Rob is survived by his loving mother Bettie Jean Sargeant as well as his brother, Stephen A. Sargeant of Rock Hill, SC; brother Thomas J. Sargeant and his wife Reae of Alexandria, VA; sister, Jacqueline Washburn and husband Chris of Lenoir; six nieces and nephews, Brandon Sargeant of Wilmington, NC, Elizabeth Buttrick of Brooklyn, NY, Mary Catherine Sargeant of Charleston, SC, Jake Washburn of Boone, NC, Margaret Sargeant of Richmond, VA, and Kate Washburn of Lenoir, NC. He was preceded in death by his great nephew Ryder Sargeant.

A service to celebrate his life will be held ‪at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at McEwen Funeral Service in the Charlotte Chapel located ‪at 5716 Monroe Rd. in Charlotte NC. The service will be conducted by Pastor Heath Spivey, the Senior Pastor of Crossroads Baptist Church of Fishersville, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park.
