He was born in Hattiesburg, MS, on April 15, 1941 to the late Robert Pearson and Lynette McKenzie, and grew up in Augusta, GA.
Bob earned his Bachelors of Science degree from Campbell College (Buies Creek, North Carolina) which is where he met his wife, Molly.
In 2000, he retired from a fulfilling and successful career with Medtronic. Bob built several long-lasting friendships throughout his career.
Once he retired, Bob enjoyed several years traveling and spending time with friends and family, until entering a period of chronic illness. He approached it all with grace and determination.
Bob and Molly recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary and thankfully we were able to have a small celebration.
He adored his grandson, Alex, and Alex equally adored his Papa. As a family we enjoyed being at Lake Norman, Seabrook Island, SC and exploring great restaurants together. We found a way to make any place enjoyable with family.
Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Lynn Snider and his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Molly McKenzie, brother, Don McKenzie (Debra), sister, Chris Perky (Bart), son, Mike McKenzie (Kathryn Rush), daughter, Lisa Kendrick (Tim) and grandson, Alex Kendrick, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Our heartfelt love and appreciation to each of you who has supported our family with phone calls, check-ins, prayers, visits, listening ears and supportive hugs. Treating us as part of your family.
Bob will be remembered at a memorial gathering held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at Mcewen Funeral Service – Mint Hill Chapel 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Rd. Mint Hill, NC 28227. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served.
