Robert Willis Dycus

Robert W. Dycus, 91, of Charlotte passed away on February 3, 2014. Bob was born in Shelby, NC on April 26, 1922. He proudly served in the Army Air Force during World War II. Bob married his beloved wife of 62-1/2 years, Billie Fitch Dycus on August 26, 1945. In 1948, he joined WBTV as a television engineer where he worked until his retirement in 1987. Bob was very active in his church but most of all; he enjoyed his role as Grandad.

Bob is predeceased by his wife, Billie. He is survived by his 3 sons, Bobby Dycus of Pineville, Bruce (Debbie) Dycus of Fort Mill and Barry (Kim) Dycus of Atlanta; grandchildren, Steven Dycus, Emily (Luis) Espinosa and Leila Dycus; step-granddaughters, Bailey and Angela Peters and 3 great-grandchildren, Hannah Dycus and Benjamin and Brody Espinosa.

The family will receive friends at 10:30 am on Thursday, February 6 at Grace Christian Center 15825 Marvin Road Charlotte, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Calvary Church, Magnolia Memorial Gardens 5801 Pineville Matthews Road, Charlotte.
